1. Include trim in window measurements

2. Include all electrical switches and outlets.

3. Check wall for squareness using 3-4-5 method (measure 3' on one wall, 4' on other wall – the measurement across = 5' if the wall is square).

4. Mark all obstructions, doorways, etc.

5. Include height of room and height from floor to bottom of window.
